Alasdair ForbesFORBES COMMUNICATIONS was founded in 2006 by Alasdair Forbes (right). A professional journalist all his life, Alasdair worked as a reporter and sub-editor on newspapers in his native Britain and also on newspapers and magazines in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Cyprus, Dubai and Hong Kong.

In 1999 he moved to Phuket, Thailand, as Managing Editor of the local English-language newspaper, the Phuket Gazette. When he joined the newspaper, it had 48 pages an issue and was published twice a month. By the time he left it, it was averaging 56 pages an issue and was published weekly. (See Links)

In addition to providing editorial, PR services and advice to a wide variety of clients, Forbes Communications advises on the structure of websites (see, for example, The Yamu and Miramare in Links).

The company is currently providing editorial consulting services to Phuket’s new English-language newspaper, The Phuket News, and is handling communications for the Bay of Bengal Large Marine Ecosystem project, an initiative of the UN’s Food & Agriculture Organisation (FAO) covering the eight countries bordering the Bay of Bengal.
